If you don't try, you'll never know

Here it is then, my first post on my first blog. It's not that I've never wanted to blog before, it's just a lack of self belief telling my not to:

'Am I interesting/cool/funny/smart enough to write a blog?'

I believe I am at a crossroads in my life right now. I've just quit an unbearably horrible job in a call center and It has taken that experience for me to believe in myself enough to decide that I want to be that self employed, creative individual that I have always admired from afar.

We all know we only get one shot at this life and that thought has been lingering with me quite a lot over the past month or so. Why should I have to sit in a grey, florescent lit office staring at my dead reflection in a computer screen? It was pitiful.
We can skip past my ever so dramatic resignation, and move to the now. Me, sat typing, putting myself out there into the world, cyber screaming 'HELLO!', 'Is anybody there?'.

So what am I writing about?

Maybe it's just me, but I LOVE reading blogs. Not always reading, I'll be honest. I'm a visual person and there is nothing better than seeing a women or man expressing themselves via the internet, in whatever way they feel necessary. The lack of a physical presence really frees us of giving a shit, we are who we are and we don't care if you like it. Well then, this is me. (I hope you like it).

My passion in life is creativity. Yes, very broad category, but I didn't want to be a 'fashion blog' or a 'cooking blog' I believe I do have a USP in some sense, as my life can sometimes flip into the extraordinary and whisk me away to far fetched places, courtesy of my darling husband. He's a bit of a weirdo and enjoys spending almost all of his spare time out in the woods looking at badgers. He's a wildlife photographer/safari guide splitting half of his time in the UK and half in Africa. As a newly married couple, this can be testing when I either get a stinky woodland creature returning home, kicking off his boots and requesting 'food', or I'm on my own with only facebook updates as any indication my husband is still alive and well.

Either way, If I'm not joining the hub on his jolly's across the world then I tend to have a lot of spare time to enjoy some of the little pleasures in life such as home decorating, cooking, shopping and plenty more.

So there we have it, the basis of my blog and a point from which I shall begin.

'Till next time.
